MCNC Connects with Policymakers and Broadband Leaders at SHLB Fly-In

This week, MCNC participated in the SHLB Coalition Fly-In in Washington, D.C., joining broadband leaders and community anchor institution advocates from across the country. The annual event provides an opportunity for organizations to meet with federal policymakers and discuss the importance of reliable, affordable connectivity for the communities they serve.
Jim Nester and Kendall Shaffer represented MCNC at this year’s fly-in. They met with House and Senate offices to share perspectives from North Carolina and highlight the vital role broadband infrastructure plays in supporting education, healthcare, research, and public services.
The fly-in also created space for meaningful conversations with fellow research and education network leaders, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and continued engagement around national broadband policy.
MCNC appreciates the SHLB Coalition for hosting this event and bringing together stakeholders committed to strengthening connectivity for community anchor institutions nationwide.
